Doing a hard work and get praised by your boss is somehow satisfying. However, when you client is talking with your boss and the client gives a praise to you, it is something more satisfying.

Today I got that praise. I am currently in the project that is having a tons of problems. The project was in delay and we are progressing very slow. The client has been complaining to our boss regarding to some team member that are performing very well. Aside from all those complaints, my boss told me that the client gave praises to me and told my boss to make sure that I am staying in the project despite all difficulties we encountered.

Whoaa…. it really makes my day

When sitting down and think what should I do for next week, my hand starts to list down all the activities that I should do or I should follow one. Whoaaa… the list becomes longer and I know that some of them is not very urgent. But I just note it down as not to forget later on.

From this list, I sort them by order of priority. I will try to finish the first point before going to the next one. This way, I will try to be focuss as much as possible.

In work, organizing the to do list is very important. Otheriwise, you will end up starting the first task and in the middle, you will jump to another task without finishing the first one yet. Going back to the first task later on will be time consuming because you need to re-read or refresh your brain for the previous task.

Always keep it simple. One small piece at a time.

Or it is just my IT guy? I recently got a laptop with Vista installed. Well, I must admit that the graphic interface of Vista is very alive and powerful. I dont know how much memory it takes just to give these kind of experience for a user. It really giving me a total experience as compared to Windows XP that I used before.

My work involves as well an application that is using database of Microsoft SQL Server 2005. When the IT guy tried to install it in my laptop, it gives a message that Vista is not compatible with SQL Server 2005. It recommens to use higher version of SQL Server. Well, since we are only having license to SQL Server 2005 and the company does not have any plan to acquire new version of SQL Server, they finally decided that my laptop should be resintalled using Windows XP.

I just agreed with them because I need that application to run for my jon. I do not know who has problem… Vista or IT guy or my company that does not want to upgrade its SQL Server.
